Enrolling in an ACT Public School
Canberra College offers a balanced curriculum, which provides a breadth of educational experience through a range of subjects, meeting the interests and needs of students for the 21st Century. Our school is a place where students are supported, connected, challenged and inspired to be learners, researchers and innovators. We have high expectations of all students in academic performance, their behaviour and in service to the wider community. Canberra College promotes values of respect, social justice, individuality, honesty and equity. As a community, we keep these at the forefront of our operations as a moral compass in our daily life. Our community values and caters for its diversity through a variety of programs and pathways which acknowledge intercultural understanding, learning abilities and styles.
College life as a student at Canberra College abounds with opportunities and challenges. These may include activities such as performing in Limelight, working on projects with villagers in developing countries, participating in Science and Maths Olympiads, representing the college in sport, singing at our annual Talent Quest, attending Writing or Psychology camps, giving through charity work, debating, completing an ASBA in a range of industries, whale watching at Montague Island, snorkelling in Vanuatu, a study tour through the USA, studying extension units at the ANU Secondary College, caving at Wee Jasper or competing in a team at the University of Canberra Maths Day.
Pathways of learning success include Tertiary, Accredited and Vocational courses where nationally recognised training packages and Australian School Based Apprenticeships. Courses are delivered in a variety of ways; through traditional and contemporary classes or targeted programs. These speciality programs include Big Picture Academies, the Futures Program, International Student Program and CCCares.
